All About Me

My name is Donna Moerie.  I was born in England and have been a citizen of Goldsboro since 1975.  I have been given the honor of instructing art at Edgewood School since 1999.  I began my journey at Edgewood as a parent volunteer.  My son, Daniel who has Aspergers Syndrome and epilepsy was a student here for 3 years.   I also have an amazing daughter named Brittany.  I was an instructional assistant in preschool for seven years until I was asked by the principal how I felt about instructing art.  My love for art and the students "DREW" me to the position.  My philosophy is to always work with your child like I want people to work with my son.  My other philosophy is that their is no wrong way to do art.  We can do anything in art with modifications.  Each day is a brand new experience for the students and myself.  We participate in the Wayne County Agricultural Fair, Berkeley Mall Exhibit, Superintendent Art Choice and many military events.  We sometimes make cards for Meals On Wheels recipients.  Our art is displayed for maintenance luncheons, central office events, adopt-a-class sponsors and anywhere else there is a need.  When you come to the school you cannot miss our beautiful display window that is decorated according to the season.  We follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study in our lessons.  I work with students from  kindergarten through 12th grade.  I would like to invite you to check in at the office and come to art class and create with your child.  You will find my schedule on my web page.  I look forward to working with your child each week.
